Why Choose Solaris Power

SEAWORTHINESS, FUNCTIONALITY AND SAFETY

- THE FUNDAMENTALS OF SOLARIS POWER

THE GREAT SEAGOING ATTITUDE OF SOLARIS POWER

  • Capable to cruise efficiently at low speed in displacement mode and as well over 30kts, unlike ordinary boats with planing hulls
  • Voyages very safely in unfavourable weather
  • Low fuel consumption, therefore greater range
  • Reduced CO2 emissions
  • Enhanced manoeuvrability thanks to its joysticks
  • Low noise level and zero vibrations
  • Great stability also when at anchor

COMFORT, IS ONE OF THE MAIN PRIORITIES

  • Low, well-protected lateral walkways, notwithstanding its deckhouse
  • Fold-out bulwarks that can be opened for enhanced enjoyment of the cockpit
  • Door on the wheel side which facilitates communications with the quay when manoeuvring inside a harbour sun top
  • A wide tender garage and stowage facility
  • Spacious and well-ventilated engine room offering easy access to the engine itself and to the other systems

THE HULL DESIGN IS INTEGRATED WITH THE LATEST PROPULSIVE TECHNOLOGIES
The Solaris Power features cutting edge propulsion which works in synergy with the shape of the hull, a solution that renders it unique to the whole motoryacht category. This is the outcome of intense collaboration between Victory Design and Volvo Penta. Since 2005 Brunello Acampora has been working on hulls that are optimised for the Inboard Performance System (IPS), which include ‘azimuth pods’ for planing hulls, having found they generate huge advantages for yachting.

Moreover, the compact nature of the propulsion plant yields a noticeable increase of living space, so that the interiors of this boat compare favourably with those of much bigger yachts, and make the tender easy to stow, launch and haul. The hull shape, while guaranteeing efficiency and maximum seaworthiness, enables both cruising at low speeds in displacement, and at top speed in excess of 35kts – unlike ordinary planing hulls. This, the result of advanced research, allows for long journeys in adverse weather and rough seas – with low fuel consumption, greater range and total safety.

THE TEAM

NORBERTO FERRETTI
A leading figure of the international nautical scene
Founder of one of the major nautical groups in the world, Mr Ferretti is considered a point of reference in the international yachting community. He has been a boat designer, an expert test skipper and also an ace pilot, world champion in Class 1 Offshore races. His thorough understanding of boatowners’ requirements has allowed him to conceive boats that are unique both in style and function across all segments of boat production. He is well known for his flair for building effective teams, for his knowledge of hydrodynamics, his ongoing search for solutions that combine theory and practice, because, as he says: ‘The sea has the last word’.

BRUNELLO ACAMPORA
Innovation in hull design
Brunello Acampora owes a lot to Renato “Sonny” Levi, one of the fathers of modern motoryachting, as well as graduating from the University of Southampton, UK, one of the world’s leading schools for naval architects. A keen researcher in hydrodynamics, he has pursued the concept of hulls customised for the new propulsive technology IPS by Volvo Penta since 2005. He is a very versatile designer in many sectors, from naval vessels and specialised boats to the fastest offshore motorboats. The design of both the outside and the interiors of the new Solaris Power range will be assigned to his firm, Victory Design.

GIUSEPPE GIULIANI
A unique track-record
Giuseppe Giuliani is one of the most successful nautical entrepreneurs in Europe: since 1974 he has built over 6,000 boats and managed four boatyards with brilliant results. With the first of these he challenged the French leadership in series-built sailboats, acquiring the most important of them, Dufour, in 1998. and thus giving birth to the second group worldwide. After selling this group to a US investment fund in 2006, he created in 2008 a facility dedicated to building motoryachts from 50’ to 100’ for highly prestigious international brands. In 2011 he acquired Solaris Yachts, building it to become Europe’s leader in the sector of high-quality sailing yachts from 40’ to 110’.

SOLARIS YACHTS: SEAWORTHY, STRONG AND SAFE BOATS SINCE 1974
The boatyard’s reputation is better known among German, Swiss and Austrian yachtsman than it is in Italy. Right from the beginning, the company’s philosophy has been the building seaworthy, solid and secure sailing boats to the highest quality standards, capable of challenging the prestigious Scandinavian builders. Fittingly, Solaris claims to be ‘built for sailors’. Its volume and revenues increased fivefold in just a few years and today it is the European leader in the category of top-class sailing boats from 40’ to 110’. Since 2008 Solaris also operates a production unit dedicated to motoryachts from 44’ to 100’, including five 90’ luxury displacement motoryachts for an internationally renowned brand. This facility is now the builder of the new Solaris Power range, to the same exacting quality standards of Solaris sailboats.
