The Solaris 62RS Custom
Powerful, elegant, exciting, the Solaris Yacht 44’ sports the clean and graceful profile of a true cruiser-racer. Long waterlines and a sleek coach roof help contribute to a style that is modern and classic at the same time. IRC compatible, she has a lead bulb keel and an extremely generous sail plan. In addition to the exceptionally solid hull and bulkhead construction, she boasts the most sophisticated modern composite materials fit for purpose – a vacuum laminated composite deck, vacuum bonded laminated chainplates, stainless steel flange plates and steel keel bolts.
The result is a feeling of safety and solidity on the helm, control on the rudder, all combined with exceptional stiffness, electric responsiveness and impressive cruiser speed. This is a yacht built to perform today and to last well beyond tomorrow. The deck design allows for remarkable space for sail storage, with a sail locker in the forepeak and a large lazarette aft. The deck itself is clear, with the halyards and sheets running underdeck. The cockpit is open, but still provides shelter for passengers, offering a great sailing experience; the hydraulic bathing platform and large flush aft deck make this a great yacht for Mediterranean relaxation.
Interior – The volume of the Solaris 44’ interior is exceptional, the layout practical, the finish refined and subtle. Three generous cabins, with two metres headroom, are provided – the owner’s cabin to the fore, with an Island berth and an en-suite shower room. To the aft there are two guest cabins, and a separate shower room. Plumbing is ingeniously executed, and there is plenty of room for stowage. The exceptional quality of the construction means that even under sail, the tranquillity and quiet in the saloon and fore cabin is exceptional. A spacious saloon area provides comfortable seating for six, an ergonomically configured navstation, and plenty of external light.
The galley has excellent work surfaces, a three burner stove and oven unit, and a top-opening 100-litre fridge. Stowage throughout is generous, with room for a second fridge further aft. Access to the engine from above is achieved by lifting the steps. The finish is superb, with the combination of Oak and neutral colours giving the already generous interior a further impression of space and light. Beneath this simple, high-quality exterior lies the solid construction and methodical design that characterises Solaris workmanship. This attention to detail is what enhances the yachts qualities whilst preserving its value.
